Newborn Sessions

Newborn sessions are one of my favorites, because capturing this season of life feels sacred, in a way.  The first time I ever paid for family photos was when we had our first baby girl and I cherish those photos more than anything.  I think I just really love taking photos you will love, too, not to mention the perk of getting to be around adorable newborns. :)

I will photograph your newborn in your home so your baby can stay cozy in his/her natural setting.  I love to do a mixture of lifestyle photography shots with the whole family as well as some more posed shots of your baby.  Take some time the morning of the photos to get dressed in a simple outfit you love, and plan on being in a lot of the photos.  I will bring a couple of options of blankets and outfits/bows, but if there's anything in particular you want on or with your baby for the photos, plan on having those out and ready when I come.  These are your photos, and I want them to be most special to you!

Newborn sessions are 2-2.5 hours because when working with newborns we want to ensure enough time for swaddling, soothing, changing, etc, and we need to work around their sleep cycles for the posed shots especially.  I would never want a newborn session to feel stressful at all- instead want them to be a relaxing time of you enjoying your baby.

Maternity Sessions

For maternity sessions my goal is to create beautiful, timeless images.   My style is natural and free spirited, so rather than shooting in a studio I prefer to do sessions in beautiful outdoor settings such as wooded areas, creeks, and/or fields of wildflowers.  Sessions last about an hour and can be just you or you along with your significant other and/or children.  You can do up to 3 outfit changes to capture some different looks in your session, and while your outfit choices are completely up to you I do recommend long, flowy dresses and anything that makes you feel lovely that shows off your beautiful bump.

Child Sessions

I love capturing children having fun, doing what they love.  I will never force a child to do something specific for a shot- instead, I love to take a laid back approach to child sessions, connect with the child, and capture them doing what they love.  In this way, I get the most natural images and capture memories of who they really were in this stage of life.  It is so much fun for me to capture each unique child.  I think one of my greatest strengths as a photographer is that children feel comfortable around me and give me lots of smiles.  Child sessions usually last an hour and focus on the child but I love to get shots with the parents as well if you'd like.

Family Sessions

I Iove doing family sessions!  Capturing the joy and unique personalities within each family is so much fun for me.  During family sessions, I always get a few shots of everyone looking at the camera and smiling, but my favorites are always the ones of you forgetting I am there and just having fun together.  As a lifestyle photographer, my goal is to capture your family doing what you love to do together, so in planning for your session, we will choose a location that is natural for your family where you can be yourselves and have fun.
